Bisque Dolls
Here are a few regularly used abbreviations used by vendors on these Auction and buy it now advertisments.

All-Bisque - Smaller (usually) dolls made with all Bisque Parts
 
Bebe - French Baby and small child Dolls
 
Bisque - an unglazed Porcelain commonly used to make 19th Century French and German Dolls
 
Brevete - equivalent of Patented in France
 
China - similar to Bisque but Glazed Porcelain
 
Closed Mouth - Doll that has lips closed and teeth do not show. Often more popular with higher priced dolls.
 
DEP - often on French and  German fmeans  Patent
 
Excellent condition - not quite mint condition but no visible major defects.
 
Intaglio Eyes - molded into head to be painted later.
 
Inset Eyes - eyes do not move but are usually moulded and inset.
 
Mark - mark is usually found at back of Doll just below the collar. Shows Maker,style and date (but not always ) Sometimes difficult to read.
 
Mohair  taken from Angora Goats this is the most desirable material for Dolls wigs.
 
Provenance - written history of that particular Doll - adds value.
 
Reproduction - or Repro - Dolls made in the exact style of antique bisque and China - made and sold as copies please be careful as unscrupulos vendors may try to sell these as originals.
 
Shoulder Head - means the Dolls head and shoulders are moulded into one piece.
 
Sleep Eyes - Eyes open when upright and close when the Doll lies down
