Popular since 1905, Bleuette was originally a premium give-away for subscribers to a French Magazine called La Semaine de Suzette which was aimed at French Girls.

 

The magazine produced over 1 thousand patterns for outfits for Bleuette for young French Ladies to sew and dress their own loved Bisque Doll.

 

Early Bleuettes were fully articulated with Bisque Heads. later models were sold with compostition heads.

 

There are older reproductions around and some modern doll makers still make modern high quality reproductions.

Bleuette is a very popular Doll still with collectors and many still make their own outfits for her.

 

Production continued until 1960 so there are many Bleuettes around but the early Bisque Headed ones are the more valuable.
