Because of Jumeaus experience in dollmaking and his skill inchoosing fabrics and matching them to the particular doll,
they became very successful.

Belton was more interested in the sales side of the business and eventually they split up in 1845.
 
Jumeau at this time was specialising in Poupees (a kind of fashion doll with a papier mache head.)
He then turned to making dolls with porcelain heads that he purchsed from other dollmakers and  he kept on making these until 1872 when he began making his own porcelain heads.

He changed over to making what was to be his biggest seller  the Bébé doll during the 1870s.
Like many dollmakers he  still  continued making some dolls as long as they were still selling.

here were several models of the Bébé :
The Premier Jumeau Bebe  similar to a standard poupee.
A Portrait Bebe similar to the Portrait Poupee
Several models with minor changes.
The Triste Model by Albert Ernest Carrier Belleuse
This was the most beautiful of the Bebe series.

The  Famous Paris Bebe was introduced in 1892.
Anatole Danel registered the trademark Paris Bebe  after he left Jumeaus employ and a court battle ensued.
Jumeau won the case and the judge ordered the destruction of all of the molds etc
After the trial Jumeau brought out a different model and took over the trademark..
