Jumeau Automaton
oJumeau made bisque heads for a number of automatns. Automatons were mechanical dolls (usually clockwork) which moved,played musical instruments,did magic tricks or other amusing entertainments. Before television this was a major entertainment for wealthy people in the 19th century.
Automata were very special and often used as after-dinner entertainments to amuse their guests.Only very wealthy owners could afford these adult entertainments because they were so expensive. It was even possible for clients to order special automata to amuse their friends.
